P.S I Love You

Have you ever wondered what would happen to your parents, friends and other relatives when you pass away? How would they be effected? Will they move on with life or take some drastic measures (if you know what i mean)? Wouldn't it all be a little bit easy if we knew how and when someone is leaving only so that the other party can prepare themselves? Unfortunately, nature does not work that way.
I must admit, I read books very often. Be it a magazine or a novel, I will somehow find the time for it. From all the great books and authors I have come across, I would like to make the novel, PS I Love You, by Cecelia Ahern the highlight of my post. Yes, it is a love story. However, the story is merely all about love and kisses, it has got a slight twist in which most people would not expect unless read. So before I continue, here is a short trailer on the best selling novel, PS I Love You, which eventually turned into a movie. Here is a glimpse of how the movie goes.

So, Holly Kennedy (main character) and her husband, Gerry Kennedy have the perfect married live until Gerry's life is taken by an illness and he passes away. Holly finds it hard to move on with life. It takes the life out of her. The only person who can help her heal is no longer there. Nobody knows Gerry better than Holly. So, before he left, Gerry wrote Holly a series of letters that will guide her, not only through her grief, but in rediscovering herself also. The first message arrives on Holly's 30 birthday in the form of a cake, and a tape recording from Gerry, who tells her to be herself, that cheerful happy holly she once used to be. In the months that follow, she would open letters from Gerry, each sending her on a whole new journey, from buying a bedside lamp to singing in a talent show (her worse nightmare). Do keep in mind that that these letters are pushing Holly forward, helping her heal and finding back confidence. With Gerry;s words as her guide,Holly embarks on a journey of rediscovery in a story of marriage, friendship and how love so strong can turn the finality of death into a new beginning for life.

From the movie trailer and the short synopsis, you can tell why I am so inspired. Not that I have been in any kind of situation like that but it kind of makes you wonder what it would be like to have someone love you so much until they are willing to guide you through you moment of sorrow, although it would mean troubling them in the end.

Be it a  husband- wife relationship or a mother-daughter relationship, it only goes to show that true love does not die. It remains forever and ever, it just depends on how much you trust it, that's all.

This book is definitely a recommendation to all who needs some inspiration. A good read.

My water adventures

For a person who loves the sun, the sand and the sea, I must admit, Krabi, Thailand is one of the most beautiful places I have visited. The blue of the ocean and the green of the mountains just blend in together so perfectly. There are absolutely no words to describe it's beauty. Before I move on, where is Krabi? Well, it is located on the west coast of southern Thailand. See here for details.
Here is a glimpse of how Krabi looks like.

The mountains decided to morph itself into looking like a chicken head. No wonder it's called Chicken Island. Click here to view clearer  image.

This was taken on Ao Nang beach during sunset. Beautiful.
Besides the fantastic view, Krabi has got lots more to offer. From snorkeling and mountain climbing to the great food and friendly people. Something that really caught my interest was all the water sport activities. For someone who really enjoys outdoor activities, especially that including water, kayaking and snorkeling was the highlight of my trip. I have never snorkeled before, but the 1 hour experience was simply priceless. We chartered a personal long tail boat to the few famous snorkeling spots and got a chance to swim with the fishes. Thanks to the clear blue sea water, we not only could see fishes swimming around but could also see the bottom of the ocean (of course, we were at the shallower regions).

My brother in the water playing with the fishes.
Although my experience was only for a short while, I had great fun. Now, I am just looking forward for another chance. Another fun water activity we did was kayaking. We initially had a though time controlling the kayak mainly because the current was pretty high. However, after a few tries, and not to mention, me almost falling into the water, we managed to get the hang of it.The next two hours was a cruise for us. We even saw a jelly fish! I must say, the chance to admire such scenic beauty so close by kayaking was truly a gift. Definitely worth it.

Us kayaking in the middle of the sea. a terrifying experience.

Our tired faces.

The spectacular view in the lagoon.
I will come back soon, Krabi.
